Quesada Fonseca Nicaragua Petite Corona Cigars (Box of 20)
In July, Quesada Cigars and the Placencia family announced that they were teaming up for a new release under the Fonseca line. This new cigar would feature all Nicaraguan tobacco for the first time in the brand’s history.
Starting out, the Fonseca Nicaragua features dominant powdery cocoa and hay flavors followed by aged oak, leather and charred meat. The sweetness in the profile shifts into more of a sugary honey note during the second third with an earthy peanuts flavor, highlighted with flavors of grass, cedar, leather, dark chocolate, dried plums and a touch of citrus. The sweetness in the first and second thirds disappear almost entirely during the final third, leaving a peanuts and dark chocolate flavor.
The smoke production is about average and the overall strength hits between mild and medium through the duration of the cigar.
The petite corona is Derek's personal favorite. The cigar has great flavor for a short smoke and the box press is not often found in this size. The price is right for any budget at well.
